This Bill Stinks

Looks like the Democrats and Republicans "trimmed the fat" from the economic stimulus. And via Athenae, here's what our Congress Critters consider "fat":
$40 billion State Fiscal Stabilization
$16 billion School Construction
$7.5 billion of State Incentive Grants
$5.8 billion Health Prevention Activity
$4.5 billion GSA
$3.5 billion Higher Ed Construction (Eliminated)
$3.5 billion Federal Bldgs Greening
$2.25 Neighborhood Stabilization (Eliminate)
$2 billion broadband
$2 billion HIT Grants
$1.25 billion project based rental
$1 billion Head Start/Early Start
$1.2 billion in Retrofiting Project 8 Housing
$1 billion Energy Loan Guarantees

Because as we all know, building schools and fixing Section 8 housing doesn’t create jobs as well as a tax cut can.

And Head Start doesn’t teach children as well as tax cuts do.

And making Federal buildings energy efficient doesn’t save as much money or create as many jobs as do tax cuts.

Nice job, idiots. And when the economy fails to be stimulated by the great and glorious free hand of the market unfettered by some of the lowest taxes in the developed world, it will be the failure of the Obama Administration.

Just as Rush Limbaugh, the de facto leader of the Republican Party, hoped.

Mission accomplished. Keep the wealth trickling up from the working classes to the corporations. Maybe some day we’ll all be rounded up into some KBR constructed detention camp, paid for with our tax dollars at a cost of $385 million.

Because there’s always money for that.
